More EA and Another art test

I was asked to do another art test, this time for 3D Realms and the job would be working on Duke Nukem Forever. The test was quite challenging and I didn't get to do as much as I would like, but I think the parts I did looked quite good. While working on that test I was contacted by EA Tiburon again who checked out my reel and liked it and set up an interview. When I got the call it was really more of a pre-interview and was told that we'd do the real interview on Monday. Tuesday I got an email that the team at Tiburon needing help wanted ...

Turkey Day & Shooters

It's Thanksgiving Day, I hope all of my US readers had a happy one. The very next day after I finished the Ready At Dawn test I was contacted by Shooters to do some more work. This time a pretty basic flying logo model for the PA Lottery. This time I was able to work from home, I guess that enabled them to get it done over the holiday

Ready At Dawn & Wii

I was asked to do an art test for Ready At Dawn Studios, the makers of Daxter for the PSP. I'm almost finished now and I think it's looking pretty nice. Also this morning I went out at 4:30am to wait in line for my Nintendo Wii. Apparently there were people there at noon yesterday, but I wasn't out of luck, I ended up getting number 32 of the 68 they had. Unfortunately there were a lot of people there who went home empty handed because they came too late. I think the last count before we started going in was over 100 people in line. it ...

The End of Shooters

It looks like my time at Shooters is just about done. I was told I wouldn't be needed on Friday but perhaps for a few days in the coming week. Then that's probably it. At first I thought I would prefer working at home, but it turned out that even with the 1.5 hr trip to and from, working in the studio was far better than home. Not only did I get to go out and make new friends and contacts, but I also learned a lot and even did some teaching myself. I got some good demo reel material and something for the resume, not to mention I made some ...

Latest from Shooters

Two projects completed at Shooters. I hear the client did back flips over the last one we finished. The third project we're working on currently is a bigger one, a spot for NCAA Basketball on TV. I've already completed some modeling and animation for

Shooters

First day at Shooters today. I'm working on some animation for a pharmaceutical trade show. One of the guys I'm working with was in a class with me at University of The Arts. Small

New Job

I never did hear back from EA, but I am starting a 4 week (at least) project with Shooters Post & Transfer on Tuesday. I'll be working there, so I'll have to travel an hour into Philly every day, but it should be well worth it. In order to do this I had to quit my retail job, which I felt bad about because I gave almost no notice and they're already short-staffed. But sometimes you have to look out for Number

Art Test

A few weeks ago I posted the images of the Jedi Starfighter on CGTalk.com and 3 hours later received a phone call from EA Chicago. They liked my work and wanted to talk some more. This site was shown to the art guys and I got another phone call, this one scheduled. The art guys liked my work as well, but wanted me to do an art test anyway. The finished results of that test are now in the 3D Gallery of this site. So far I've had incredible feedback from quite a few people who've seen those images. Unfortunately no word back from EA. I'm ...
